Product Name:Aluminium Welding Wire
Standard:AWS A5.10
Product Description:
ER4047 (commonly referred to as “718 aluminum” or AISi12) is an aluminum filler metal which contains approximately 12% silicon.
This alloy is commonly used not only in MIG or TIG applications, but also as a general purpose brazing alloy providing a free-flowing filler metal and good corrosion resistance. ER4047 is recommended for welding or brazing aluminum alloys: 1060, 1350, 3003, 3004, 3005, 5005, 5050,
6053, 6061, 6951 7005 and cast alloys 710.0 and 711.0. ER4047 has an approximate melting range of 1070°-1080°F and the post anodizing color tint is grayish-black.
Applications:
ER4047 aluminum TIG wire, characterized by its high silicon content (around 12%), is primarily used for welding cast and wrought aluminum alloys, especially in applications requiring high fluidity, good crack resistance, and suitability for sustained elevated temperatures. It’s ideal for brazing, general fabrication, automotive and aerospace work, and repairing cast parts like engine blocks. Its lower melting point and narrow freezing range provide better control during welding and make it a good choice for gap filling and applications with higher fillet weld shear strength requirements.
