Product Description: ER309L is a pure argon gas shielded TIG welding wire of ultra-low carbon 24Cr-13Ni austenitic stainless steel, which has excellent welding performance with smooth arc, no splash and optimal bead appearance. It is permitted for all-position welding. It has good crack resistance, and is suitable for welding martensitic and ferrite stainless steel with poor toughness.

Applications: filler metal ER309L rod for TIG welding (GTAW) process to weld dissimilar alloys like mild steel and the stainless steels, and also for direct overlay on mild steel for corrosion applications; occasionally used for welding “18-8” base metals when severe corrosion conditions exist or dissimilar metals; ER309L stainless steel exhibits high strength and good toughness over a wide range of temperatures; shielding gas required, usually 100% Argon.
